In Greek mythology The oak is considered  sacred to Zeus, King of the Gods and in early Europe, tribes worshipped the oak and connected it with a thunder or lightening God. Every 4 – 10 years certain oak populations will synchronise to produce almost no acorns at all, only to rain them down excessively the following year, known as a mast year. Only one in every 10,000 acorns results in an eventual tree.

This clock is finished in Danish oil with a coloured resin infill and is fitted with a battery operated quartz (almost silent) sweeping movement. All of our movements are guaranteed for 12 months from date of purchase.
